Product Features and Working Principle
1. Dual Core Functions
As the first stage (coalescing stage) of a filter/separator system, the I-644C5TB primarily performs the following two functions:
- Water Removal (Dehydration): It coalesces highly dispersed emulsified water (tiny water droplets) present in the fuel into larger droplets, which are then separated via gravitational settling.
- Particulate Removal: It efficiently captures and retains solid particulate contaminants present in the fluid stream. 2. Workflow
The fluid flows through the filter element from the inside out:
1. Filtration Layer: First, the fluid passes through a high-precision filtration layer, which captures solid particulate contaminants.
2. Demulsification Layer: It then enters the demulsification and coalescence layer, where the oil-water emulsion is broken down.
3. Coalescence Layer: Tiny water droplets collide and coalesce into larger droplets on the surface of specially treated glass fibers. Once carried by the fluid to the outer surface of the filter element, these large water droplets—being denser than hydrocarbons—settle into a liquid collection sump under the influence of gravity and are subsequently discharged.
3. Design Advantages
- High Efficiency: Features a high-precision rating of 0.4 microns, ensuring the efficient removal of both solid particles and free water.
- Aviation Standard Compliant: Strictly adheres to the EI 1581 specification, making it suitable for use in aviation fuel refueling systems.
- Integrated Design: Facilitates easy installation and replacement.
