Core Functions and Features
Primary Function Hydraulic Pump Protection: Intercepts large particulate impurities within the hydraulic fluid (such as metal shavings, rubber fragments, etc.), preventing them from entering and damaging the precision internal components of the hydraulic pump.
Installation Location Installed within the hydraulic pump's suction line; typically submerged directly beneath the fluid level inside the oil tank.
Filtration Precision Classified as coarse filtration, with a typical precision range of 80μm to 180μm. If the filtration precision is set too high—resulting in excessive flow resistance—it can lead to insufficient fluid intake by the hydraulic pump, causing cavitation and subsequent damage.
Common Filter Media Primarily consists of stainless steel wire mesh or copper mesh. These materials offer high mechanical strength and can be repeatedly cleaned and reused, thereby reducing replacement costs.
Technical Parameters and Classification
1. Performance Indicators
Filtration Precision: Classified into four grades: Coarse (d ≥ 0.1 mm), Standard (d ≥ 0.01 mm), Fine (d ≥ 0.005 mm), and Ultrafine (d ≥ 0.001 mm).
Pressure Drop Characteristics: Pressure loss occurs as the hydraulic fluid flows through the filter element. For general industrial machinery applications, the initial pressure drop requirement for suction filters is typically specified not to exceed 0.08 MPa to 0.15 MPa to prevent pump cavitation.
Dirtholding Capacity: The total weight of contaminants that the filter element can intercept before reaching its maximum allowable pressure drop; this metric serves as an indicator of the filter element's service life.
