The air compressor oil separator filter, also known as the oil-gas separator filter, is a key component in screw air compressors. It is primarily responsible for separating lubricating oil from compressed air, ensuring clean compressed air output.
- Filtration Accuracy and Efficiency: High-quality oil separator filters can achieve a filtration efficiency of 99.999% for oil mist particles as small as 0.1μm, keeping the oil content in the compressed air to 3-6 ppm (parts per million) or even lower.
- Service Life: The filter element's designed service life is typically around 3500 to 5200 hours. However, its actual service life is significantly affected by factors such as lubricant quality, the compressor's operating environment, and air quality. In harsh environments, the replacement interval may need to be shortened.
- Initial Pressure Differential: The initial pressure differential of a new, healthy oil separator filter is typically no higher than 0.02 MPa to 0.03 MPa. If the pressure differential is too high, the air compressor may alarm, indicating that the filter element needs to be replaced. Filter Material and Construction: To achieve high separation efficiency, the filter element's primary filter layer typically utilizes ultrafine glass fiber (such as those from HV or Lydall in the United States). This material effectively agglomerates tiny oil droplets. It often has a two-layer construction: the first layer is glass fiber for fine separation, while the second layer is polyester synthetic fiber for protection. End caps may be made of PC plastic or stainless steel, while seals are made of nitrile rubber or fluororubber to ensure a tight seal.
