Filter Element Function and Application:

 Function: This is the core component of the air filter, filtering the air entering the engine. It removes abrasive particles such as dust and sand from the air, preventing them from entering the engine cylinders and causing abnormal wear on key components such as pistons, cylinder liners, and valves. It is the engine's most important "protective shield."

 Applications:

 Volvo Construction Equipment: Engines used in Volvo excavators (EC Series), loaders (L Series), and articulated haulers (A Series).

 Volvo Penta Engines: Volvo engines used in ships, generator sets, and other equipment.

 Other Equipment: May also be used in equipment from other brands using Volvo engines.

 Filter Media: Typically resin-treated cellulose paper or high-efficiency synthetic fiber with multiple pleats to provide a large filter area.

 Construction: Typically features metal or polyurethane end caps and a rubber seal to ensure a tight seal with the filter housing, preventing unfiltered air from short-circuiting into the engine.  Type: Dry type filter element (mainstream form).
